Seminar in Women & Sports  28-09-2005

Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in cooperation with Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) organized a seminar on Women Sports at Amer Hotel, Lahore on September 28 & 29, 2005.  The main purpose of this seminar was: 

  • Create awareness among women about the loftier virtues of sports.

  • Keep the participants abreast of the OCA policies and initiatives on women sports.

  • Make the participants conscious of their role as sports leaders and enthuse them with the passion to dedicate themselves for rendering useful services for the promotion of sports in their respective spheres.

19 participants representing Provincial Olympic Associations, National Sports Federations and University comprising of Sports Leaders, Coaches and Athletes etc. attended the Seminar. 

Seminar / Conference was held in four sessions i.e. two sessions daily and the following Speakers had the honor to deliver their speeches / lectures and organize the participants in groups for presenting their views on different aspects of Women Sports:

  5. Dr. Muhammad Asghar Javed
    Director Sports and Chairman,
    Sports Sciences and Physical Education Department
    University of the Punjab, Lahore.

Khawaja Farooq Saeed, Vice President, Pakistan Olympic Association and Chairman, Income Tax Appellate Tribunals of Pakistan was the Chief Guest on the concluding Session who distributed Certificates and Souvenirs to the participants and Speakers.
