41st OCA Executive Board Meeting  01-12-2003

 

The 41st OCA Executive Board Meeting successfully concluded in Kuwait on 1st of December, 2003.  The meeting was Chaired by H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President OCA.

 

The highlight of the meeting was the progress report presented by the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee, which was received and well appreciated by the Board.  The Board was of the unanimous view that due to the unique nature of the 15th Asian Games in Doha, the Games should be high-tech and I.T. oriented Games.  The other major decisions taken by the Board was to:-

 

A)  Open the bid for the 2010 Asian Games.

 

B)  Publish 3 books i.e.

       i)   historical and modern culture of sports in Asia by Cultural and   Education Committee of OCA

       ii)  Asian Games history by the OCA Media Committee.

       iii) Women and Sports in Asia by the Women and Sports Committee.

 

C)  Adopted a motion proposed by President OCA to lift the suspension imposed on the NOC of Iraq since 1990 subject to the approval of the forthcoming General Assembly of OCA to be held in Doha in June 2004.

 

D)  Hold the next Executive Board and General Assembly meetings in Doha in June, 2004.
