5^th Official Asian Games FUN RUN 2004 in Damascus 10-12-2004

Three hundred children from Damascus and neighboring suburbs sprinted to the finish line, at the Jalaa Sports City, for the Official Asian Games Fun Run 2004 on Friday 10 December, to celebrate sport in Asia and to highlight the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.

Jalaa sports city was considered the ideal location to host the event since it was one of the hosting cities for the Mediterranean Games in 1987 and is the head office of the Sports for All Federation.

Dr. Kamal Taha, President of, The Syrian Olympic Committee, Mr. Zouhair Muhanad, President of National “Sports for all” Federation, Mr. Abd El Maseeh, Chairman of Sports Organizing Committee all attended the event and presented the medals to the winning children.

Each child was given a limited edition Asian Games Fun Run t-shirt and cap. Upon completion of the Fun Run they also received a certificate of achievement from the Olympic Council of Asia.
