Asian Games Fun Run in Beijing, China
Over three hundred
children from Beijing sprinted to the finish line at the Wenhui
Middle School for the 4th Official Asian Games Fun Run 2004 on
Saturday 23rd October, to celebrate sport in Asia and to
highlight the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.
Venue
The event was held at the prestigious Wenhui Middle School in
Beijing.
Age Groups
Three races were held during the Fun Run, the first one being a
ball relay race, the second one a skipping rope relay race and
the last one a hurdle relay race.
Bronze, silver and gold medals were
presented for each age group by various COC officials.
Group 1 = 12
(boys)
Group 2 = 13 (girls)
Group 3 = 14 (boys)
Registration
The t-shirts and caps were distributed to the school prior to
the event and handed out to the children on the morning of the
event.
The t-shirts and
caps proved very popular with the children and gave excellent
brand exposure, which is illustrated in the photos.
Opening and
presentations
A stage was set up with the 15th Asian Games and OCA backdrop
behind it. The following officials were present at the event and
presented the medals to the winning children.

Each child was presented with a certificate of achievement upon
completion of the race so that all were rewarded for taking part
not just the various winners.
Signage
One
standing banner was set at the gate of the school, and one
banner at the VIP room and four banners were set on the
playground of the school. A specific backdrop was set up behind
the presentation stage.
MC
The MC was
of great importance in bringing the event together and conveying
messages to the children. The MC also played a vital role in
the presentations by announcing the winner’s name and the age
group.
