Guangzhou Asian Games Mascot Launch

The official Mascot of the 16TH Asian Games to be held in
Guangzhou in November 2010 was officially launched in a
glittering function held in Guangzhou on 28TH of April 2008
at 8 pm.
The Mascot a ram with 4 children was launched with fanfare
was jointly launched by H.E. Mr. Huang Hua Hua, governor of
Guangdong province and executive president of GAGOC, Mr. Yu
Zaiqing, Vice Minister of General Administration of Sport
China, Vice President of COC and Vice President of OCA, Mr.
Husain Al-Musallam, Director General OCA and Mr. Zhu Xiaodan,
Standing Committee Member of CPC Guangdong provincial
committee and vice president of GAGOC.
The Mascot is named "Le Yangyang". H.H. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad
Al-Sabah, President of OCA sent out a special Televised
message to GAGOC and people of Guangzhou during the occasion
and expressed OCA’s total support for the Games.
The Highlight of the Ceremony was the cultural show
presented by the school and small retrospective drama
presented by three generations of a family whose grandfather
had seen china participate in Tehran Asian Games in 1974,
father had seen the 1990 Beijing Asian Games and their
daughter would be participating in the 2010 Guangzhou Asian
Games.
