Manuel Silvério participated in Hong Kong
East Asian Games activities
10-11-2007
Vice President of the East Asian Games
Association (EAGA) Manuel Silvério attended
the 5th East Asian Games Planning Committee
cocktail reception and the “2009 East Asian
Games Moving On Stage 1 Concert” of Eason
Chan in Hong Kong to Nov 10.
To show support to the East Asian Games to
be hosted by Hong Kong, local pop singer
Eason Chan opened two more concerts on 10th
and 11th earlier and decided to that the
income generated from the 2-night ticket
sales will be contributed to the 2009 Hong
Kong East Asian Games Operational Fund. The
concert was held at the Hong Kong Coliseum
in Hung Hom yesterday. Eason Chan showed
his support to the Hong Kong East Asian
Games through singing and dancing.
“Macao and Hong Kong are two adjacent
cities; the preparation of Hong Kong for the
East Asian Games has reminded Macao of the
experience in hosting the 3 Games, meanwhile
it proves once again the significance and
advantage of hosting large scale sports
meet,” expressed EAGA Vice President Manuel
Silvério.
After the successful hosting of the 4th East
Asian Games in Macao in 2005, Hong Kong has
successfully bid for the hosting of the East
Asian Games in 2009, and will be followed by
Tianjin as the host city of the 6th East
Asian Games in 2013. To further promote the
East Asian Games, Eason Chan’s fund-raising
concert for the 2009 Hong Kong East Asian
Games Operational Fund is probably to be
followed by yet another concert before the
Games, featuring singers from Hong Kong,
Macao and Japan in the Hong Kong Coliseum.
