Chefs de Mission meeting for the 6th Asian Winter Games 23-10-2006

 

The meeting of the Chefs de Mission for the 6th Asian Winter Games successfully concluded at Shangri-La hotel (official Games hotel), Changchun on October 29 – 30, 2006.  50 delegates from 27 Member NOCs participated in the meeting.  So far 23 NOCs confirmed their participation with approximately 906 athletes while remaining 22 NOCs will dispatch officials to attend the Games. 

 

3 sports, 5 disciplines and 26 events on Skating and 2 sports, 5 disciplines and 21 events in Skiing will be held from January 28 – February 4, 2007.  Mr. Manuel Silverio, Vice President; Mr.Wei Jizhong, Sports Committee Chairman; Mrs. Natalya Sipovich, Chairperson Women’s Committee; Mr.Charouck Arirachakaran, Chairman Advisory Council and Mr. Husain Al Musallam, Director General represented OCA.  Mr.Yu Zaiqing, Vice President of Chinese Olympic Committee; Mr. Chen Xiaoguang, Vice President, Madam An Li, Secretary General etc. represented the CAWGOC.

 

The delegates have also visited various sport venues and hotels in Changchun and Jilin provinces during their stay in Changchun on October 30 & 31, 2006.  The delegates expressed their full satisfaction on the preparations being made by the Organizing Committee.
