Qatar start strongly in 3rd GCC Women’s Games

Manama, Bahrain: Table tennis kicked off the sports programme of the 3rd GCC Women’s Games in Bahrain on Monday. Competition started with a single round-robin format in the team event involving four teams. Top seeds Qatar won both games by 3-0 to lead the standings going into the final day of the team event on Tuesday.

Monday’s competition was witnessed by GCC Women's Organising Committee Chairwoman Shaikha Naima bint Ahmed Al Sabah of Kuwait and Bahrain Olympic Committee member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and other high-ranking sports officials in the GCC. Results were: Bahrain 3 Oman 0; Kuwait 3 Bahrain 2; Qatar 3 Kuwait 0; Qatar 3 Oman 0.
