Sri Lanka NOC holds IOC ACP

27 Jul 2015
Colombo, Sri Lanka, July 27, 2015: The IOC Athletes’ Commission, IOC and Adecco have been working together since 2005 delivering the IOC Athlete Career Programme (IOC ACP) to support elite athletes in achieving success both on and off the field of play. The IOC ACP is delivered nationally in 32 countries across five continents in coordination with Adecco and the NOCs.

To help make the benefits of this programme available to all Olympic athletes, the IOC ACP formalised its Outreach Programme in 2009 with the goals of providing hands-on workshops to elite athletes around the world.

These workshops focus on the three pillars of the IOC ACP - education, life skills and employment - and they are delivered by a member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission, retired Olympic athletes and/or Adecco managers.

The NOC Sri Lanka was fortunate to be able to benefit from this unique programme, hosting the Outreach Programme at Olympic House on July 22 with the participation of 24 athletes including five Olympians. The programme was conducted by Ms. Claudia Bokel, Chair of the IOC Athletes’ Commission and a member of the IOC.
