Riner succeeds Okada in judo role

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Six-time world champion Teddy Riner of France was elected President of the Athletes Commission of the International Judo Federation (IJF) by his peers during the World Championships held in Rio de Janeiro last week.Olympic champion in 2012, Riner succeeds Japan’s Hirotaka Okada, bronze medallist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and two-time world champion. Okada had been elected in 2009, when the Commission was created. Info at www.ijf.org
