Kyrgyzstan judo receives a boost

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: Kabar News Agency of Kyrgyzstan reports that Japan will allocate a grant of US$900,000 to Kyrgyzstan for the purchase of tatami mats for judo. The parliamentary committee on international affairs approved the agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the project “Improvement of sports equipment for judo training for the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports”.

This agreement will create conditions for the development of judo in the country, which will have a positive impact on sport in general, Kabar adds. The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide tatami mats for the Sports Palace in Bishkek, Tokmok sports school and the sports hall of the Judo Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
