All roads lead to Ashgabat for OCA EB meeting

12 Oct 2011
Kuwait: With a new Executive Board in place following the 30th OCA General Assembly in Tokyo on July 14, all roads lead to Turkmenistan this week for the 60th OCA EB meeting in the capital Ashgabat on Sunday, October 16. The OCA Executive Board meeting will be held at the Ashgabat Convention Hall, next to the official hotel for the delegates, the President Hotel.

The OCA decided to hold the 60th EB meeting in Turkmenistan to coincide with the country’s 20th anniversary of independence from the former Soviet Union in 1991. The meeting will also give the EB members and other observers the opportunity to see Turkmenistan’s capital city as it prepares to host the OCA’s 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017.

The fourth edition of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games – which combines the Indoor Games and the Martial Arts Games for the first time in OCA history – will take place at Incheon, Korea, in 2013, and will serve as a full-scale test event for the 17th Asian Games the following year.

The EB meeting in Ashgabat will feature presentations from Incheon and Ashgabat organisers, and will approve the number of sports and the events programme for the 4th AIMAG in Korea 2013.
