Bhutan develops basketball referees

09 Jan 2017
Thimphu, Bhutan, January 9, 2017: Eighteen influential members of Bhutan’s basketball community have signed up for the FIBA Asia Referees’ Clinic organised by the Bhutan Basketball Federation (BBF) in the capital Thimphu. The participants include four referees from Bhutan Youth Basketball (BYB), BYB trainee referees and representatives of the BBF, Bhutan NOC, colleges and coach Kim Kiyong.

The programme runs from January 9-11 and is being conducted by a FIBA-certified referee instructor, Mr. Naresh Aneja, who will provide theory-based learning in the morning sessions and practical sessions in the evening.

The federation hopes that such a course will help the referees improve their knowledge and help them hone their skills. BBF hopes that this will assist in their performance during tournaments.
