Lausanne, Switzerland: The build-up to the Olympic Games in London will include several key meetings for the global Olympic Movement. The IOC Executive Board will meet at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel on July 21-22, when EB members will hear reports from IOC commissions and directors, as well as updates on preparations for the London Olympic Games, Sochi 2014, Rio de Janeiro 2016 and PyeongChang 2018 as well as the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing 2014 and Lillehammer 2016.
IOC President Jacques Rogge will hold a press conference at the Main Press Centre on the afternoon of July 22. The following morning, the IOC EB will hold a joint meeting with the IOC Athletes' Commission at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, followed by a visit to the Olympic Village.
The opening ceremony of the 124th IOC Session will take place at the Royal Opera House on the evening of July 23. The 124th IOC Session will run from July 24-26 and resume on August 12, the day of the closing ceremony. The 124th IOC Session, to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, will make decisions on key policy issues and areas under its authority and will hear reports from all commissions and IOC departments.
The IOC President will hold his second press conference of the week at 10.00 on the morning of the opening ceremony, Friday, July 27, at the Main Press Centre. On Sunday, August 12, the 124th IOC Session will resume at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, followed by a meeting of the IOC Athletes' Commission and the closing press conference of the IOC President.
