OCA Finance Committee thanks Philippines for hosting meeting

17 Jan 2014
Manila, Philippines: The OCA Finance Committee met at the Sofitel Hotel in Manila on Friday morning. The Chairman, Kevin Chen Kuo-I, opened the meeting and began by offering his sympathy to the people affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan that struck the Visayas region of the Philippines on November 8. The committee extended its heartfelt thanks to the Philippine Olympic Committee for their cooperation and efforts in organising this meeting - scheduled originally for Boracay on November 27 - and other events, including the Asian Games Centennial Festival and OCA General Assembly.

Mr Thomas George, partner of Deloitte and Touche, Al-Fahad, Al-Wazzan and Co presented the audited statement of accounts for the OCA, Olympic Solidarity and Incheon Vision 2014 fund as at December 31, 2012. The OCA Finance Committee unanimously received and approved all three audited statements of accounts for the fiscal year 2012.

Members also received an update on activities in the new OCA HQ in Kuwait since the OCA moved offices in August 2013. Effective from December 2013, a share of the rent revenue from the Olympia complex will be paid to the OCA, thus creating an additional revenue stream.

The OCA Finance Committee thanked the OCA management for its full support in the day-to-day running of the OCA.
