Sochi, Russia: With the Dutch speed skaters in record-breaking form, Korea had to settle for the silver medals in the men’s team pursuit final at Adler Arena on Saturday night. The Netherlands have dominated the long-track speed skating in Sochi and took another gold medal in this event in an Olympic Record time of 3 minutes, 37.71 seconds.

The Korean trio of Lee Seung Hoon, Joo Hyong Jun and Kim Cheol Min were 3.14 seconds behind in 3:40.85. It was the eighth medal of Sochi 2014 for Korea but the first for male athletes after their previous seven medals, including three gold, had been won by female competitors.

Lee commented: “I think that we perform better in team pursuit than in individual races.” His teammate, Joo, added: “For the last four years we prepared to the best of our ability. Individually I think there is a lot of room for improvement. For the next four years we will prepare for PyeongChang 2018."
