19 Nov 2013
Incheon, Korea: The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee (IAGOC) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) signed an English commentary service agreement for the 2014 Asian Games host broadcasting services on Friday, November 15, 2013.

The agreement signing ceremony was held at the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) building in Seoul.  Mr Kim Young-soo, President of IAGOC, and Mr Gil Hwan-yeong, President of KBS and of the ABU, signed the agreement as the representatives of the two parties.

Competitions in all 36 sports and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be broadcast live or recorded by the host broadcaster during the 17th Asian Games from September 19 to October 4, 2014.  The ABU will provide English commentary service for 12 of the most popular sports at the Games.

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union signed a partnership MoU with IAGOC in September this year.  It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation of broadcasters that was founded in 1964.  With 3 billion viewers and 254 member companies in 64 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, it is one of the largest broadcasting organisations in the world.
