Vietnam NOC President lists six steps towards the success of 2016 Asian Beach Games

23 Apr 2014
Kuwait: HE Hoang Tuan Anh, Vietnam's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and NOC President, says that Vietnam will guarantee six conditions to secure the success of the 2016 Asian Beach Games  in Nha Trang. His pledge came during a press conference at the OCA HQ in Kuwait on Wednesday following a meeting with the OCA President, HE Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah.

Asked what guarantees Vietnam could offer towards the success of the Nha Trang Asian Beach Games in 2016, Minister Hoang said:  “Vietnam can offer six conditions. First, the cost of hosting the Asian Beach Games is very much affordable. Second, the local authority is eager to host the Beach Games to promote the local tourism industry. We all know that Nha Trang beach is ranked No. 13 in the world for its beauty and No. 6 for most attractive beach.

“Third, Nha Trang has organised some beach sports events in the past and they have already built up a technical team for the Games. They know how to operate the Games. Fourth, our National Olympic Committee has offered great support to the Nha Trang Asian Beach Games.

“Fifth, Vietnam has developed a great number of athletes to compete in the Beach Games, thereby guaranteeing Vietnam’s full participation. This is also a key factor in the successful hosting of a Games.

"Last but not least, we have the full support of the OCA President, Sheikh Ahmad, and members of the Asian Olympic family.

“Vietnam has benefited from an excellent relationship with the OCA in the past 35 years, which has ensured our participation in every Asian Games since 1982. This was also a key factor in Vietnam’s successful hosting of the Asian Indoor Games  in 2009.

“I have every confidence that a successful 2016 Nha Tang Asian Beach Games will contribute to the Olympic Movement and to the future World Beach Games."
