Singapore’s first Winter Olympian to showcase short track speed skating

24 Feb 2018
Singapore, February 24, 2018: The Singapore National Olympic Council is helping to promote Singapore’s first Olympic Winter Games representative, short track speed skater Cheyenne Goh, on her return from Korea. Singapore was one of six National Olympic Committees, along with Malaysia, making their Winter Olympics debut in PyeongChang, where Cheyenne took part in short track speed skating at Gangneung Ice Arena.

In order to capitalise on the momentum created by this historic event, the Singapore Ice Skating Association is organising a short track showcase and meet-and-greet with Cheyenne at The Rink@JCube on Sunday, February 25.

“Singapore's first Winter Olympian, Cheyenne Goh, will showcase the sport of Short Track Speed Skating with her fellow junior teammates on February 25 from 10.25am to 10.30am at The Rink @ JCube,” says the promo material, posted by Singapore NOC on their Facebook account. From 10.35 until 12 noon there will be a meet-and-greet with Cheyenne and five members of the ISU World Junior Championships team.

Both the Singapore Ice Skating Association and Singapore NOC will be hoping that Cheyenne’s appearance and short track demonstration will attract more youngsters to the ice and lead to more Winter Olympians in the future.
