Malaysia NOC presents awards to SEA Games athletes

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: The Olympic Council of Malaysia-Sports Toto Outstanding Athletes of the Myanmar 27th SEA Games Awards was held on Thursday, December 26 at the OCMSportsMuseum and Hall of Fame. The guests of honour were HRH Tunku Imran, President of OCM and IOC member, and Tung Kai Shek, Head, Finance & Administration Division, Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd.  They presented the medal and cash prizes to the winners. 

A total of 16 individual athletes, two pairs (badminton women’s doubles and pencak silat women’s seni ganda) and two teams (men’s and women’s hockey) were presented with the OCM-Sports Toto Outstanding Athletes Awards 2013.  

The best male and best female individual athlete from each sport that won gold medals at the Myanmar 27th SEA Games were each presented with a cash award of RM1,000 and a medal.  Each member of the doubles team and the hockey teams were presented with RM500 and a medal. 

In other news from Malaysia: 

The Mr ACT 2013 Body Building Championships were held at the Tan Sri Hamzah Arena on December 29 in five categories: Mr Beautiful Body, New Talent, Mr ACT below 70 kg, Mr ACT 70-80 kg and Mr ACT above 80 kg. 

The championships attracted a record number of over 350 competitors and paying spectators totalling around 2,500. For the first time, both the Tan Sri Hamzah Arena and the car park in Wisma OCM were full. It was indeed a spectacular scene to see so many spectators.
