OS/OCA Regional Forum in Bahrain

Manama, Bahrain: The Bahrain Olympic Committee has finalised its preparations for this week’s Olympic Solidarity/Olympic Council of Asia Regional Forum for West, Central and South Asian National Olympic Committees. The event, to be held in Bahrain for the first time, is scheduled to take place from May 6-9 and will be organised in cooperation with the OCA.
It will be attended by 54 officials from 26 countries, in addition to five representatives from Olympic Solidarity and three from the OCA. Some of the highlights will be discussions of the Olympic Solidarity programmes, as well as a series of meetings with the organising committees of three major games to be held this year.

They are the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea, from September 19 to October 4, the 2nd Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, from August 16 to 28 and the 4th Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand, from November 14 to 23.

The BOC organising committee is headed by Nawaf Abdulrahman and consists of five standing committees: Media, Accommodation and Transportation, Public Relations and Events, Administration Affairs and Logistics and Information Technology.
