President Karzai Appreciates Athletes Gained Honors In London Olympics.
President Karzai praises Afghan Olympians

Kabul, Afghanistan: President Hamid Karzai praised the Afghan athletes who gained honour for Afghanistan at the London Olympics, Bakhtar News reports. At a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace and attended by Afghanistan NOC President Mohammad Zahir Aghbar, President Karzai awarded the high state medal of Ghazi Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan to Ruhullah Naikpah, taekwondo bronze medal winner, and the state medal of Ghazi Mir Masjidi Khan to two taekwondo coaches: Bashir Taraki and Korean Min Sen Hak.

President Karzai also appreciated the efforts and courage of the other five athletes representing Afghanistan at London 2012: Nisar Ahmad Bahawi, Tehmena Kohistani, Ajmal Faizi, Masoud Azizi and Ajmal Faisal. President Karzai praised Ruhullah Naikpah for winning bronze medals at Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and congratulated all the athletes for representing the flag, despite the problems at home in Afghanistan.

NOC President Mohammad Zahir Aghbar thanked President Karzai for his support in strengthening sport in Afghanistan and expressed his hope that the athletes would gain further honour at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Ruhullah Naikpah presented his sports shirt to President Karzai as a gift.
