Daimler Street Football brings enjoyment to Laos

08 Jul 2011
Vientiane, Laos: Vientiane Football Federation Secretary General Soulivanh Xeunvilay believes Daimler Street Football creates a special environment for youngsters to enjoy the game.

“We have many football competitions in Vientiane and other cities in Laos such as the 1st league, 2nd league, U19, U16 Youth Cup, Prime Minister's Cup, U22 Women’s Championship and National Games,” said Mr. Soulivanh.

“However, most of those competitions are very much medal-focused and footballers can’t enjoy football as it should be.

“Thanks to the Olympic Council of Asia and Daimler, Daimler Street Football is indeed a unique football social programme. It not only promotes sport at grassroots level, it also brings joy to young footballers so they can enjoy football as much as possible.

“After creating many grassroots programmes to promote football in Laos, the Laos Football Federation and Vientiane Football Federation can now set up more visionary football development for Laos.”
