Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Press Agency reports that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate, for the first time in its history, in an international badminton event - namely the Bahrain International Badminton Championship to be hosted by Manama starting on Wednesday. It will be the first international engagement for the kingdom in this sport since it was first played by students in schools and universities over 25 years ago and since the formation of the Saudi Badminton Committee by the General Presidency of Youth Welfare in 2014.

The Kingdom looks forward to achieving positive results in the four-day Bahrain tournament, depending on national expertise worked over 25 years to develop basics of the badminton game and upgrade it from the level of hobby to professionalism.
