Water skier Aaliyah receives medal from King of Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, February 1, 2018: Malaysian water skier Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah was awarded the Pingat Pangkuan Mahkota (PPM) medal for meritorious service by His Majesty the King of Malaysia in the Federal Territory FT Day on Thursday morning.

Tan Sri Samsudin Osman headed this year's awards list with the highest award of Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah (SUMW). OP Tan Sri Sam was the founder of the now famous Putrajaya Waterski & Wakeboard School in 2008 when he was the President of Putrajaya Corporation.

Aaliyah, 14, is one of the top young water skiers in the world and made her Asian Beach Games debut at Muscat, Oman, in 2010 when she was just seven years old. Last August, Aaliyah won three gold medals (jump, tricks and overall) and one silver (slalom) at the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
