Chinese Taipei NOC welcomes Chinese aquatic stars

24 Oct 2013
Taipei: China always tops the Olympic medal table in diving, and Chinese synchronized swimmers also mesmerized the world with a silver medal at the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Featuring several Olympic gold medalists and world-class athletes, the Chinese Diving and Synchronized Swimming Delegation is visiting Taiwan and ready to stage the Olympic Aquatics Star Gala in Taipei on October 25 and in Kaohsiung on October 28 at the invitation of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee.

The Olympic Aquatics Star Gala involves 12 diving athletes who have collected a total of 23 Olympic medals between them, and nine synchronized swimming Olympic medalists who will greatly impress and amaze the audience by showing off their exquisite techniques and performing breath-taking routines.

Mr. Thomas W. Tsai, President of CTOC, held a press conference to introduce the star athletes on October 24. Tickets are free but they have all been taken by fans who learned of the event via the CTOC website.

For the Taipei session, a giant LED display screen will be set up in the plaza next to the venue of the University of Taipei to allow more people to enjoy the feast of strength and beauty in aquatics.
