OCA President visits Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia, October 15, 2017: The President of the Olympic Council of Asia, HE Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, visited Jakarta on Sunday, October 15, to inspect the progress of the 18th Asian Games to be held in Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2, 2018.

The OCA President met with HE Mr Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of Indonesia and Chairman of the Asian Games Steering Committee, and discussed various issues concerning the Asian Games, including the sports programme and venues.

Later, Sheikh Ahmad and Vice President Kalla signed the marketing release agreement of the Asian Games, giving the organising committee the rights to generate more revenue for the Games.

Sheikh Ahmad will be meeting the President of Indonesia, HE Mr Joko Widodo, on Monday, October 16 to appraise him on the progress of the Asian Games.

The OCA President was accompanied by Mr Tsunekazu Takeda, Chairman of the OCA Coordination Committee for the 18th Asian Games, Mr Wei Jizhong, Hon. Life Vice President of the OCA, Maj Gen Charouck Arirachakaran, Vice President of the OCA, Mr Husain Al Musallam, Director General of the OCA, and Mr Vinod Tiwari, Director, International Relations, OCA.

In another development, sponsorship signings were held for Ssangyong in IT solutions, Tissot for scoring and timing and 361 for sports uniforms.
