Singapore: Mongolia picked up its second gold medal of the YOG when Erdenebold Ganbat won the men’s vault on the last day of gymnastics action Sunday at Bishan Sports Hall. Ganbat scored 15.662 to win from Turkey’s Ferhat Arican (15.650) and Spain’s Nestor Abad (15.450).

Fifth in the men’s rings final the previous day, the 17-year-old Ganbat came out on top in the vault to secure his country’s second gold of the Games, following the early victory for Battsetseg Baatarzorig in the women’s 60kg freestyle wrestling.

Ganbat says he has launched "a new era for gymnastics in Mongolia" with his gold in the men’s vault.
