The 7th Asian Winter Games Astana-Almaty 2011 Media Survey Result.
Media happy with Winter Games services

Kuwait City: More than 90% of media personnel gave the thumbs-up to the media operations and services at the 7th Asian Winter Games in Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan, according to a post-Games media survey conducted by the Olympic Council of Asia Media Committee.

The OCA Media Committee selected media at random during the Games to take part in a survey, and studied hundreds of forms filled in by the international and domestic journalists. Ninety per cent of the media said the services provided at the Main Press Centre (MPC) were good, and 62% of them gave the highest mark for "outstanding".

The media service, including MPC, media operations staff and volunteers, had the highest mark, with a total of 94% media professionals satisfied with the conditions and environment provided. 32% said "good" and 62% reported "outstanding".

The MPC dining services received the third highest 77% overall marks, with 47% "outstanding" and 30% "good". The other survey figures are for Media Sub Centres in all competition venues 75.3% (54.3% outstanding, 21% good); Media Village Accommodation 74% (48% outstanding, 26% good); Media Buses 73% (54.3% outstanding, 21% good).

In the section of "Please list the items you like the most", the answers were: work-station with computer and free internet and telephone; helpful, friendly staff and volunteers; easy access to internet, TV, telephone and giant screen in the MPC.
