IOC invites Women and Sport award nominations

Lausanne, Switzerland: The International Olympic Committee’s Women and Sport Commission, chaired by Anita L. DeFrantz, has invited National Olympic Committees, International Federations and NOC continental associations to put forward candidates for the 2013 IOC Women and Sport Trophy.

The ceremony to award the six trophies will take place in Lausanne in July 2013. The candidature files must be submitted to the IOC by 29 November 2012 at the latest.

The IOC presents one world award and five regional awards to people who have promoted and pioneered the advancement of women in sport, either in the playing arena or at administrative level.

• The 15th edition of the IOC World Conference on Sport for All will be held in Lima, Peru, from 24 to 27 April 2013. The Conference is being organised jointly by the IOC, through its Sport for All Commission, chaired by Sam Ramsamy, and the Peruvian NOC, in cooperation with SportAccord.
