FIH announces top male players

Lausanne, Switzerland: Australia’s Jamie Dwyer has been honoured by his fellow hockey players who named him “Player of the Year 2011” of the International Hockey Federation (FIH). His compatriot Matthew Swann won the Young Player award. They received their prizes at the Owen G. Glenn FIH Champions Trophy in Auckland, New Zealand, from FIH President Leandro Negre.

The winners of the women’s Player of the Year awards will be announced at the Argentine Champions Trophy, which will be held in Rosario between 28 January and 5 February 2012. The 2011 FIH All-Star teams will be decided by public vote on the FIH web site between 12 and 21 December. More info at www.fih.ch.
