QSA Executive Director Mohammed Abdullah Alsheeb said the championship would be the best event to gauge the progress of the athletes from the OCA swimming youth camp.
"The QSA has hosted the Qatar International Swimming Championship for the past 5 years, and we have decided to invite all the youth camp athletes from 31 NOCs to compete in this championship as a test for their 10 days training in Doha," he said.

It’s the QSA’s long-term plan to create a top youth swimming championship so that many young athletes will benefit from it.”
