Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain Olympic Committee General Secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has lauded the efforts of the GCC Handball Organising Committee to achieve its main objectives on the continental and international levels. The words of praise came during his meeting with committee chairman Fayez Muselhi and other members of the committee at the end of their recently-concluded meetings in Bahrain.

Shaikh Ahmed was briefed on the future plans and programmes of the committee, the most significant of which is the Women's GCC Clubs Championship, set to take place in Bahrain in March. Other events include the GCC Women's Games, which Bahrain will also host next year, in addition to qualifying courses and seminars for referees and coaches.

Muselhi praised Bahrain for their support of sport in general, and handball in particular. He expressed confidence in a bright future for handball in Bahrain due to the availability of a handball academy in the kingdom.

Shaikh Ahmed expressed his satisfaction with the packed programme on the committee agenda, and the noticeable support offered to the junior teams, which promises to achieve more success for GCC handball.
