6th Official Asian Games Fun Run 2004

17 Dec 2004
Over four hundred and fifty children from Amman and the surrounding areas ran for 2.3 km along the banks of the Dead Sea on Saturday 17 December as part of the Asian Games Fun Run 2004. Organised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Jordan Olympic Committee, children aged between 7-17 were invited to participate in the event, which spread the message of the Asian Games in the region and also promoted development, understanding and friendship throughout the continent.

The winning children were presented with their Asian Games Fun Run medals by HRH Princess Aya Al-Hussein and HRH Prince Omr Al-Hussein. Each child was given a limited edition Asian Games Fun Run 2004 t-shirt and cap and upon completion was presented a certificate of achievement by HRH Prince Faisal Al-Hussein and Mr. Haider Farman from OCA.

The event attracted significant press attention with TV Jordan, Jazeera Channel and Dubai Channel all covering the event. There were also 14 reporters present at the event and Fun Radio broadcasted live from the venue to all over Jordan.
