Arab teams parade at the opening ceremony
2nd Arab Women's Sports Tournament opens in Sharjah

Sharjah, UAE: The 2nd Arab Women's Sports Tournament kicked off in Sharjah, UAE, on Sunday with more than 900 athletes from 14 countries taking part. The teams include UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Palestine, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

The opening ceremony was held at the Sharjah Ladies Club under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs,
and attended by high-ranking sports officials from all over the Arab region.

The second edition of the tournament will feature almost double the number of participants compared to the first event to compete in basketball, volleyball, table tennis, shooting, and athletics as well as this year’s addition of fencing and archery.
