OCA President unveils Martyrs’ Monument

04 Jun 2014
Kuwait City, Kuwait: OCA President HE Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah conducted the opening ceremony of the Martyrs’ Monument outside the OCA HQ in Kuwait on Wednesday evening. Sheikh Ahmad said the OCA was concerned with not only sport but also culture, education and society, and had decided to create the monument of a clenched fist, surrounded by the symbols of the OCA – the dragon and falcon – in honour of those who had died serving their country.

“This shows the unity and the feelings for the society of the Kuwaitis,” he said. “We cannot find better than the martyrs who gave their lives for their country. At the opening ceremony of the monument, we believe this is the symbol of the people who loved their country.”

The Olympic Day Run Medal Presentation followed the ceremony.
