GCC NOC leaders gather in Bahrain

Manama, Bahrain: The Executive Office of the GCC National Olympic Committees’ Presidents held a consultative meeting at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on Thursday to revise and amend the consolidated bylaw of the GCC Sports Organising Committees system. The amendments were based on proposals from the Bahrain and UAE National Olympic Committees, as well as the GCC Women's Sports Organising Committee.

Bahrain Olympic Committee General Secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa chaired the meetings. The revised draft will be presented for discussion at the 77th meeting of the Executive Office on Friday and will then be submitted to Presidents of the GCC Olympic Committees for approval on Sunday.

The meeting was also attended by general secretaries of GCC National Olympic Committees: Mohammed Al Meshel of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Al Kamali of the UAE, Oman's Taha Al Kosheri, Obaid Al Anzi of Kuwait and Qatar Olympic Committee Sports Affairs director Khalil Al Jaber. Bahrain is hosting a number of GCC meetings over the next few days to enhance joint coordination among people of the Gulf region in the youth and sports sectors.
