OCA President meets with Thai PM

Bangkok, Thailand: The President of the Olympic Council of Asia, H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, has met with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Shinawatra, in the Thai capital Bangkok.

On behalf of the Asian sports family and Olympic Movement, the OCA President expressed his sincere condolences to the Kingdom of Thailand for the tragedy and devastation wrought by the severe flooding in Thailand last year.

Sheikh Ahmad also thanked Thailand for their loyal and generous support of the Olympic Movement in Asia through the OCA.

The OCA President congratulated Thailand on their impressive organization of and preparations for the 4th Asian Beach Games in Phuket in November 2014, and expressed his confidence in the successful hosting of the event on the island paradise.

Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Shinawatra confirmed the great preparation for the 4th Asian Beach Games and insured the games success also asked to organize the 3rd Asian Youth Games in 2017. The inaugural edition was held in Singapore in 2009, and the second AYG will be in Nanjing, China, in 2013.
