Kathmandu, Nepal, June 27, 2016: Nepal Olympic Committee marked Olympic Day 2016 in the capital on Thursday, June 23. The chief guest was the Youth and Sports Minister, the Hon. Satya Narayan Mandal, who congratulated the NOC for the week-long celebration which involved 59 projects.

The message that “sport is for everyone, regardless of age or athletic ability” was showcased in the programme, which was organised by the Sport For All Committee of the NOC. According to NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, the Olympic Day was successful in spreading the core values of the Olympic Movement and in establishing peace and friendship through sport.

National sports associations, schools, the army and police all joined in the programmes, and the NOC hopes to make the event even bigger next year.
