Daimler Street Football curtains down in Ashgabat
Final whistle blows on DSF in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan: The third Daimler Street Football project came to a successful conclusion on Sunday in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. In the under-14 final, Ashgabat Football School beat Olympic Sports Youth School 2-0.

The same schools clashed in the under-16 final, with Ashgabat Football School winning a penalty shootout 3-2 after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Ashgabat Sports Committee Chairman Muhammet Keshikov, Turkmenistan National Olympic Committee Secretary General Azat Muradov and Olympic Council of Asia Technical Department Officer Vahid Kardany presented the trophies and medals at the awards ceremony.

The Daimler Street Football project was co-founded in 2011 by the Olympic Council of Asia and Daimler to promote sport at the grassroots level in different Asian countries. 

Turkmenistan is the third country to organise the DSF project after Bhutan and Timor-Leste. Palestine will join the project in June, followed by Kazakhstan and Laos in July.
