Hong Kong NOC to hold Olympic Day at Ocean Park

Hong Kong, China, April 20, 2017: An Event Announcement Press Conference was organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China on Thursday to announce that Olympic Day 2017 will be held at Ocean Park for the first time on June 18. 

Mr Timothy Fok, Hong Kong NOC President and OCA Vice President, was joined at the press conference by Mr Matthias Li, Chief Executive of Ocean Park, Mr Tony Yue, Chairman of the Olympic Day Organising Committee and NOC Vice President, and Mr Ronnie Wong, NOC Secretary General.

This year’s Olympic Day will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 1997. An orienteering event will be held at Ocean Park during the Olympic Day and participants have to explore the control points set inside the Park with the map provided. 

In response to the IOC’s initiative, the NOC will also organise a sports carnival by combining the elements of family run, booths and sports demonstration. 

*Online registration will commence in late April and close on May 12.
