02 Jul 2015
Male, Maldives, July 2, 2015: The Women’s Commission of Maldives NOC, in cooperation with Olympic Solidarity, has organized a two-day Women’s Empowerment Seminar for the contingent taking part in the 9th Indian Ocean Island Games. The seminar was targeted for all the female athletes and officials, including the female youth camp participants of IOIG.

This seminar offers athletes the opportunity to improve their communication skills through role-playing and group interaction with their teams. Overall, this seminar will also help athletes to develop and implement their own successful strategy, and enhance their confidence and effectiveness in dealing with the press.

The seminar was conducted by Mrs. Mariyam Waheedha, freelance human development specialist. The seminar was attended by 45 athletes and officials from football, handball, volleyball, tennis and table tennis. Participants will receive a certificate at the closing ceremony on July 3 at Citron by lemongrass.
