28 Mar 2014
Pyeongchang: The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) hosted a workshop on Thursday, March 27, inviting participants of the Sochi 2014 Observer Programme, to discuss their experiences and share new knowledge.

The workshop was attended by more than 250 people, including employees of POCOG, officials of the Ministry and host/venue city governments, along with industry experts.

One of the key issues that stood out during the 7-hour meeting was the topic of Engagement and Sustainability. Participants agreed that it is critical for all stakeholders to put forth effort into developing strategic and cohesive plans to engage the public and to create lasting legacies that are uniquely about PyeongChang.

Other discussion topics include venue management, games operations, accommodation, transport, culture, marketing, technology and accessibility.

In his closing remarks, POCOG President Jin-sun Kim said, “I hope that this workshop serves as an opportunity for everyone here to further advance communication and cooperation. We have one goal, and that is to deliver a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games in PyeongChang.”
