Japan NOC presents Olympic pins

16 Nov 2012
Tokyo, Japan: The Japanese NOC organised its traditional ceremony to award Olympic participant and medallist pins. Seven gold medal-winners, 19 silver medal-winners and 16 bronze medal-winners from London 2012 were among the 360 participants, along with representatives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology, national sports federations, sponsors and the NOC.

NOC President and IOC member Tsunekazu Takeda symbolically presented a pin to Saori Yoshida, Olympic champion for the third consecutive time in women’s wrestling (55kg), who represented all the athletes.

Japan won seven gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze medals for a total of 38 medals at the London Olympics, placing Japan 11th in the final rankings based on gold medals won.
