London Olympics Update: Qatar

London, England: The Qatari administrative delegation under the leadership of Mr. Khaleel Ibrahim Al-Jaber, Director of QOC Sports Affairs Department, arrived in London on Tuesday, July 17.The administrative delegation will prepare for the arrival of Qatar’s sports delegation to participate in the 30th Summer Olympics from July 27 to August 12.

The QOC announced that 12 athletes will represent the country in the London Olympics: Nasser Al-Attiyiah (skeet), Rashid Al-Thaba (trap/double trap), Noor Al-Malki (100m athletics), Hamza Driouch and Mohammed Al-Qarni (men’s 1500m), Mohammed Bakheet (marathon), Mutaz Barsham (high jump), Musaab Abdulrahman Balah (men’s 800m), Nada Wafa Arkagi and Ahmed Gheith Al-Attari (swimming, freestyle), Bahia Al-Hamad (shooting) and Aia Magdi (table tennis).

The QOC is looking for a positive participation in the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games based on its commitment and pioneering strategy to  attend  all sports competitions to  gain experience and to achieve glory.
