Vietnam looks ahead to 2016 Beach Games

23 Jun 2012
Haiyang, China: As the dust settled on the 3rd Asian Beach Games in Haiyang, China, attentions turned to the 4th edition in Phuket, Thailand, in November 2014 – and even beyond that for some Beach Games visitors. Nha Trang, Vietnam, will host the 5th Asian Beach Games in 2016, and three members of the Vietnamese press were hard at work throughout the 3rd ABG promoting the event to sports fans and the general public back home.

“We have really enjoyed our trip to Haiyang. We went to almost every event to send reports back home,” said team leader Mrs Le Thi Hoang Yen, Editor-in-Chief of the Tap Chi The Thao sports magazine in Vietnam.

“It is such a good opportunity for us to learn more about the Asian Beach Games and to report on all the sports here in Haiyang, and to let Vietnam know more about the Beach Games and about the Olympic Council of Asia.

“I would like to thank the OCA for inviting us to this wonderful Asian Beach Games. It has been a great experience for us.” The other two members of the party were Mr Nguyen Quang Thang, a well-known sports photographer, and Mr Cu Duc Thinh, a TV cameraman.
