Kuwait wins shooting gold at Arab women's tournament

Sharjah, UAE: Kuwait won the gold medal in the 10m air rifle competition on the third day of the 2nd Arab Women's Sports Tournament in Sharjah, UAE, on Tuesday. Kuwait scored 68 points to come first, ahead of Qatar (66) and Bahrain Shooting Club (59) at the Sharjah Ladies Club Shooting Range. In athletics, Bahrain's Al Shabab Club bagged one gold and two silver to take their medal tally to 10.

Hajer Saad and Zaynab Abdulhussain raced to a 1-2 finish in the 200 metres, recording times of 25.61 seconds and 26.84 respectively, and Salha Al Lahdan won silver in the 100m hurdles in 16.66 seconds.

Badya Kamara (Qatar Ladies Club) took the gold in 15.48 seconds, while another Qatari, Fatma Muthaher, rounded off the podium in 16.93.

Other results on day three were: Volleyball - Kuwait Ladies Club 3 Al Ahi Club (Bahrain) 1 (20-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-17).
