Mongolia’s winter warriors rewarded

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: Mongolia NOC President Dr. D. Zagdsuren and Sports Minister Ch. Naranbaatar welcomed the medal winners of the 7th Asian Winter Games at Olympic House in Ulaanbaatar. They awarded athletes, coaches and team leaders with the "Sport Glory" order and cash prize money in recognition of their sporting success in Kazakhstan.

Mr. D. Amar, team leader of the silver medal-winning bandy squad, presented a symbolic bandy stick with the signature of all the players.

Mr. Oto, NOC Secretary-General, Dr. J. Khatanbaatar, Chef de Mission, and Mr. D. Surenkhorloo, Secretary-General of the Mongolian Ski Federation, attended the ceremony.

Mongolia won one silver medal in bandy and four bronze medals in ski orienteering to place fifth in the final medal standings behind Kazakhstan, Japan, Korea and China.
