Qatar focuses on sports media course

Doha, Qatar, October 24, 2017: A five-day course entitled “The art of dealing with sports media" was organised by the Qatar Olympic Academy and held at the QOA Headquarters.

The closing day was attended by the Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General, HE Jasim bin Rashid Al Boenin, along with senior QOC and QOA officials.

The course was organised in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Qatar University. Dr. Mohammed Qirat, Professor of Public Relations and Media, along with leading sports journalists, delivered productive lectures on sports media during the course.

Senior media officials including TV broadcaster Mohammed Saadoon Al Kuwari, commentator Hafeez Daraji and Magid Al Kholaifi, Editor-in Chief of Doha Stadium, highlighted the various types of sports press and the differences between a sports story, report, investigation and commentary.

The course brought together trainees from different sport federations, national teams and media officials.

This course was approved by both the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) and Arab Sports Press Association (ASPA).

In the closing ceremony, QOC Secretary General Jasim bin Rashid Al Boenin presented certificates of appreciation to all trainees.
