Dhaka street parade celebrates Incheon Asian Games Fun Run

Dhaka, Bangladesh: More than 500 students, athletes and sports officials joined a musical and colourful parade in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka on Friday morning to celebrate the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Fun Run. The participants came from local schools and colleges and from sports organisations. The 2km parade started from the Bangladesh Children's Academy and finished at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. 

Vahid Kardany, OCA Technical  Official; Ms Meher Afroze Chumki, State Minister of Women & Child Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; Mr Syed Shahed Reza, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association; Basir Ahmad, Vice President of Bangladesh Olympic Association; and IAGOC's Deputy Secretary General for Games Operations, Su Jung Ghyu, joined the parade.

The event not only attracted many local citizens but also media organisations, with more than 20 journalists from local newspapers Daily Prothom Alo, Daily Kaler Kontho, Daily Jugantor, Daily Star, Daily Tribune, Daily Ittefaq, Daily Manabkantha, Daily Naya Diganta, UNB and Daily Bangladesh Protidin.

In addition, 20 broadcast media from Ekattor TV, Ekushey TV, Independent TV, Somoy TV, Channel-I, ATN News, Jamuna TV, SA TV, Masranga TV, NTV and BTV filed reports from the Fun Run.
